Finally got some free time to mess with the rig a few days a go so I’ve been shooting our cars lately.  Here’s a quicky of what I shot so far… well, a single image of my daily beater running around our parking lot lol.  Nothing major really.

The new Voltex wing for the X… Cool or no?

It would definitely look better with a full kit or a lip.  Kinda looks like the Varis wing only shorter but for me tho my favorite wing for this car is the Esprit wing seen here on the dunlop / blitz Evo X.  Love it.  That shit don’t fuck around.

Few days ago I was supposed to take some casting shots of our cars for the new Fast and Furious movie… yes there’s a new one and I think they’re calling it Fast 5.  But then since High End has been having some domain name issues I ended up trying to fix that shit before I get the chance to catch the sun and take some shots.  I ended up shooting this.

Yes yes it’s my car again and yes it’s another HDR but I dig it.  It came out pretty good.  And just in case you’re wondering, yes my roof is fucked because of my carbon hood slamming on it at 50 mph about a month ago.  I’ll post some of those photos later hehe.  So check this and lemme know what cha think?!

I’ve always like vintage photography, if I haven’t said it much, and now I’ve been messing with some HDR’s and turning it into one.  It’s pretty interesting how it makes the photo looks synthetic and fake.  The photo looks like it’s CGI.  Pretty cool I think.  Here’s the comparison of the two.  Check it!

How have the first few days of the year been for everyone?!?  It’s been nice to me, thank god, since I rarely get this lucky with time and / or life =)  actually a few days ago, I had one of those rare chill Saturdays.  Nothing much to do but sit around Starbucks and have some tea.  Well, my friend OJ and I decided to look for a few abandoned buildings and take some pictures and here’s what I came up with.  Aaaaah HDR Love in the beginning of 2010.  Lovely indeed.  Before the whole Auto Concept/High End gig we had this group of five cars and we called it “Regent V” dope ass name don’t cop it since we’re still rocking the decals =).  Here’s the true Regent II.

This area is a huge part of Oxnard that was abandoned.  Well, it’s now pretty torn down since apparently they’re gonna be building high rises in this area.  They’re just waiting for a few businesses to exhaust their lease and they’ll start.  I don’t know if that’s a smart idea but meh… It’s actually a really good spot for shoots.  There’s an old school western motel there that is a nice location.  Unfortunately it’s all boarded and chained up.  Wished I could climb up there and do some fashion and glam shots.  That would be ideal.  Nevertheless, nice chill day after some crazy ass partying the night before.

My Daily and one of my loves =)  It’s a hot mess but I still love her.  Need to detail it soon and perhaps get a new ARC Element lol!  Oh, that and clean the damn garage and get rid of most of that junk!!

Early this morning after my run I just decided to park somewhere and take some shots with the new toy.  Been wanting to do this and since the rain has stopped for a bit, I played around with the video feature of the camera.  Really cool indeed.  Well, I don’t have the $22K lenses that canon used to make their film but I made due with my 50mm 1.8.  Messed around with it for a little bit and see what it can do.

Excuse me since I’m video editing is not my forte (I’m more of a illustrator / photoshop guy) but I just made due with iMovie and created a quick video to see what this camera can do.  It didn’t disappoint although a 45 second video is about 250 Mb I’m sure I’m killing my hard drive space before this year ends if I use the video function a lot.  It sure is pretty tho.  Well here it is.  Check it out and let me know how it is.

Honestly I would have used vimeo on embedding the video but they won’t do HD Embedding … What’s up with that?!?! Anyhoo since Vimeo is better here’s the Vimeo Version.  While choosing the song for this video it made me realize how appropriate the one I chose is.  You’d get it if you know my history with this car.  Well long story short, I’ve been wanting to let the car go but it’s still sitting in my garage.  And excuse the cleanliness of the car, I haven’t washed it in months!!

Kind of an old picture… Well, 2 months or so but I still dig this one.  Here’s what I see every time I drive the Evo… especially if i’m not wearing any glasses or contact lenses haha.

For the past few days I’ve been plagued with the thought of getting rid of the Evo and picking up something else. A few weeks ago Mr. JDMego and I has been chatting till the wee hours of the morning about going back to Honda. Him getting an FD2 and me picking up an S2K but not really going for broke and build it as much as we do now but something subtle that you can daily drive. Don’t get me wrong this Evo I drive on the daily but the thoughs of getting pulled over everytime I take it out is always on your mind. Looking at all your mirrors to see if someone is tailing you is really annoying. That’s where the whole building a subtle Honda topic came in. I don’t know really, I’ve been on this road before but I always find a way to keep this beast. Like last week when I drove the car to Vegas for a day. It was extremely comfortable at high speeds (i was cruising at 90mph and up the whole way) that it just made me fall in love with her all over again.

Another car that I’ve been itching to get is an E46 and shying away from the JDM tip. I’ve been chatting with my buddy Billy about it since he has one which he’s offering to me for a very decent price. I mean my car isn’t the most subtle ride for going out with a girl. Fortunately I haven’t heard any complaints since they think it’s a dope ride but then comfort is thrown out of the window. I really don’t know. Sometimes we just have to let go I guess.

Either way I love this car and maybe I should just get a more subtle suspension system and a quieter exhaust. But what’s the point tho. This car was never built with comfort as a prime factor. It’s a performance car and that’s what I built it for. I guess I’ll just let time decide. Maybe I’ll get rid of it or maybe not. But all I know right now is that’s it’s time for a new project.

I love you but sometimes I just have to let you go... Maybe...
