Another day another photo tour.. Messing around the beach and taking shots of the waves. Chill place till the wind started to pick up and blowing cold air. Still loved it. Waves were strong but the break water was there to calm it down a bit. Still an amazing sight to see. This was mid afternoon and I was thinking about staying till the sun actually touches the water but it was getting ridiculously cold. Next time maybe I’ll actually bring a jacket. In any case here’s what I captured.
Quick snapshot of a slow ass boat cruisin’ on the water this morning. Had to take it at a really slow 1/15 shutter speed to get some panning action which you can barely see. Did I mention this thing is moving oh so slowly? Anyhooo… Random yet satisfying. Click on the image for a much sharper, more detailed image.
Early this morning after my run I just decided to park somewhere and take some shots with the new toy. Been wanting to do this and since the rain has stopped for a bit, I played around with the video feature of the camera. Really cool indeed. Well, I don’t have the $22K lenses that canon used to make their film but I made due with my 50mm 1.8. Messed around with it for a little bit and see what it can do.
Excuse me since I’m video editing is not my forte (I’m more of a illustrator / photoshop guy) but I just made due with iMovie and created a quick video to see what this camera can do. It didn’t disappoint although a 45 second video is about 250 Mb I’m sure I’m killing my hard drive space before this year ends if I use the video function a lot. It sure is pretty tho. Well here it is. Check it out and let me know how it is.
Honestly I would have used vimeo on embedding the video but they won’t do HD Embedding … What’s up with that?!?! Anyhoo since Vimeo is better here’s the Vimeo Version. While choosing the song for this video it made me realize how appropriate the one I chose is. You’d get it if you know my history with this car. Well long story short, I’ve been wanting to let the car go but it’s still sitting in my garage. And excuse the cleanliness of the car, I haven’t washed it in months!!
I was crazy stoked yesterday for finally returning to my favorite thing every morning after about 2 days of not doing it. Running on the beach has been a daily thing for me for the past 4 months and today was no different… Until I got there that is. It was like a barren waste land as soon as I arrived on the sandy shores. Hardly anyone was there. Actually I think I was the only one stupid enough to hang out on the shore. There are about 4-5 people on the pier trying to catch some fish but I was the only one on the whole beach chillin’ at the sand. My attempt to run was deeply questioned by my sanity while my heart and humor wants me to go since it the fact that I’m there actually makes me laugh out loud and made me feel happy. Crazy how I actually did it… but it didn’t last that long. I ran about half a mile then went back. It was too crazy. I’m no match with 40mph gust of wind sand blasting my leg on every single step I take. I ended up standing under the pier with my back on one of the beams that supports it and hanging out there for about an hour doing nothing and just staring out on the ocean begging it to do more. It was just me against the elements I suppose but I had so much fun doing it. Just hanging out, not a care in the world, and sand flying everywhere. Amazing sight. Good thing I have my trusty iPhone to take some shots with and a quick video to show how dope it was. Yeah I know I’m an idiot.
Saw this in the beach earlier and it made me wonder… What if there’s a guy buried here head first. Oooh that’ll be creepy haha but nonetheless it’s pretty cool I think. The picture not a guy buried under all this sand.
Shot this with my iPhone last Monday. Quite a good day actually. Low tide, not too hot or cold, just a great condition for running. I actually broke my personal best of 6 miles 51 minutes that day and later beat those each consecutive days. This morning I actually did 47 mins. Not bad considering I took a week long break for sema.
Did some editing via the iPhone and here’s what I came up with… pretty cool right? Can’t believe you can do all this in a phone.
For the past few months Ive been truly MIA. So many things happened in the past 3 months. Some great some is crushingly terrible. But as of this moment I’ve been recovering nicely. Also for the past few months I’ve been running on the beach every morning 6 days a week 6 miles a day rain or shine. Although we barely had 2 or 3 rainy days. It’s been a good routine and getting in better shape than ever. Shit we ain’t getting any younger right? Might as well be some what healthy. And in those mornings where I’m in the beach I feel at peace. Every step and every breath I take makes me happy. I am at peace. Since I don’t run around the shore with my massive camera, my trusty iPhone is always on my side to capture the amazing moments and scenery I see as I run. And it occurred to me that the best camera to own is what you have with you when the opportunity presents itself. So here’s a shot or two of what I see every morning.
