it's not easy livin' the life…

After a few months of planning we finally finished the shoot for Import Tuner with the G35.  Should be real cool.  Steve Demitt is an awesome photomographer… hehe.  Good location too, on the side of the road overlooking the Malibu Lake. Thanks Carter for making this happen.  We need to go grab some more sandwiches at bayside again man!!

The issue will be out as a SEMA issue and also the 10th year anniversary issue of Import Tuner.  Should be a really special issue.  Should hit the stands late Oct / Late Nov. as a December Issue.  Can’t wait.

Gorgeous day too and just perfect lighting.  Susan also tagged along to be the assistant.  Check out some of the pictures I took of the actual shoot.

Congratulations to Steve (or should I say the new Owner in AZ) and his ex-Scooby for yet another Cover for Redline Magazine from the main land… Yes I’m British… JK.

You’re car has been whored out by everybody man. Now what are you gonna do next since the car is no longer yours? That kinda makes me sad since we did a lot to this car and now it’s not in our possession. So sad. Now Steve drives a Mitsubishi Evo 9 in which like before, copies everything that I do. First the RSX now this!?!? WTH man get your own ideas. Hehehe anyhooo congratulations again sir!

I’m heading out again today to do a photoshoot with Import Tuner.  Carter and I has been planing for this for a while and after a few months and now we’re finally shooting the car for it’s well deserved coverage.  Should be real cool.  I’ll snap some pics later for some previews of the spread.

See check this. Here’s a friends car with original varis parts. That would be the varis front bumper and wide carbon fenders. Extremely rare parts Now what I am upset about is… I don’t know if you notice… Are you ready?

There’s a massive Honda emblem on the front that came from a Honda Ridgeline. Car looks awesome but the emblem failed us all…

There are sounds in this world that you love to hear.  A bird chirping, Sound of waves breaking, or the wind blowing leaves around.  The sounds that soothes your soul.   Well here’s one of those sounds in action.  With it’s Zebra striped camo on full effect the new NSX makes a big splash with it’s German debut.

Although  you can’t see any details of the car, you can hear the high revving V10 muscle of this monstrosity.  Makes you wonder how the full alluminum body will fare up with the genuine supercar muscle of the new GT-R.  Only time will tell since it’s still way too early in the game.  The new NSX i’m assuming will be lighter if it maintains the same strategy as it’s predecessors but with the heavy V10 bearing down it’s body who knows how everything will add up.  So far so good seeing how it takes the corners around the trecherous Nurburgring.   Here’s a 3 min video of the run.  Enjoy.

Went to Mitsubishi dealership the other day and saw the new MR’s.  Didn’t know that those cars are out.  Looks the same nothing special, looked at the sticker and it cost OVER $40K.  WTF!  And that’s with no options.  Still want to drive it tho and see how the Dual Clutch Transmission will fair to a MT and how fast it transfers the power to the ground but… IT COST OVER $40,000 DOLLARS.

Whoa!! I was flipping through the new Import Tuner the other day and I came across this feature car.  I was like whoa Karen’s car is on Import Tuner again?  Ended up it’s some guy’s evo.  Man!  That car has sooo many twins right now.  Exterior wise at least but nobody can touch the rare shit and the cleanliness of that car.  This car is just too ordinary.  Sorry.  Jay this is for you.

Yesterday we decided to beef up the suspension of the G35.  Actually we had to do it for alignment and handling.  It wasn’t that bad of a install too.  It was pretty easy considering all the cusco parts just bolt on replacing the stock setup.  We replaced the upper A-Arms, Toe Rods and trailing rods.  These are the only ones available for the ccar so far so just put it in for better traction and cornering control.  Not bad for a daily driven car.  Also cusco provided us with an oil catch can so thank you guys!!  Unfortunately sway bars aren’t available so kinda bummed about that but oh well.  This works just fine.

Peep at some blue goodness.  it matches the Endless Brakes too.  Much love for those guys.  They make the ultra (yeah I said ultra) high quality parts.  Endless love right here with the big brakes and Zeals Function Xs’.

Few days ago I got this package from the mail and it contains my new portrait lens.  It’s a canon 85mm 1.8 lens and thought I should try it out and see what this baby is packin’.  The lens itself is real sturdy and quality is always high being a japanese made canon lens.  Quality is always top notch.  Image quality?  Well you be the judge.  Peep at some car shots I did yesterday.

Soo what do you think?

img_3998_500x333shkl.jpg

There’s been a lot of skeptics out there wondering if the car drives.   They’ve seen the car on shows but it was trailered there.  Main reason is the car is way too low  for the streets.  So last night what we did is took the car for a spin round the block.  Called the sheriff’s department first and told them to stay away of the area for about an hour or so then we’re ready to go hehe… just kidding.

The car has a lot of one off and prototype parts available only in Japan so we testeded everything here if they all work.  Check out the video and some of the photos of the car’s run.  Next time we’ll do some high speed runs but waiting for Cusco to send in the new Coil Over System since the car sits way too low to the ground.  Stay tuned.Check out some of pictures of the car.

… “Thank You,”  whispered my car to me.

After a few months of putting it aside I finally changed the oil in my car.  Big ups to Eneos for providing the much needed lubrication.  Eneos is one of our major sponsors and I would like to thank them for all the help that they have provided us.  I am using Eneos 0w-50 for the Evo VIII which is the recommended oil for high performance cars.  It’s what the D1 Sponsored cars use so it should work for my car too.   Especially for a daily driver =).  For more info about Eneos Oil, please do not hesitate to contact me or check out their site at http://www.Eneos.us
