It’s been a long time coming but it’s finally done… Almost
I spent the later part of the day yesterday driving to Garden Grove and Long Beach, CA to meet up with Jonathan Wong and Wes Ellison for the Super Street Cover Page shoot. Initially started at Garden Grove @ Aerodyne Industries to pick up the G37 where it’s being stored and maintained by Andy. Helped out a little bit putting the finishing touches on the G37 right before we do the photoshoot for Super Street Magazine. And yes as mentioned earlier it is a Cover Car. Just want to say thank you to Blitz for letting us borrow Nomuken’s Trailer to … err … trailer the car to Long Beach.
As mentioned it’s been a long time coming. We haven’t driven the car for a while. Ever since Formula D in Long Beach I believe which is a few months back. So much has been done to this car. Evolving from what it was last year at Tanabe’s SEMA booth. The custom V-Mount Twin Turbo setup has been added for power and a lot of custom one off parts has been installed. Roll cage for example is one off and and was made by Cusco Japan. Cusco has helped us a lot with this project making a lot of one off parts for this car. Coil Overs, under braces etc. Hara from Cusco even took the stock suspension to Japan so that they can make the coil over for the car and flew back to the US two weeks after. Pretty intense.
No numbers has been posted yet since we haven’t strapped the car on a dyno considering it barely has 2000 miles on the odometer. Should be putting out a decent amount of power since after witnessing the sheer acceleration it produced yesterday in the baron streets of long beach gave me the warm and tingly feeling. Car also sounds amazing. If you take look closer on the pictures the exhaust sticks out on the front bumper. We’re actually running an Apex-I ECV (Exhaust Control Valve) that switches from either the front or the rear Apex-I exhaust. Pretty gnarly.
Stay tuned for more updates on this project since we still have some more things to do and parts to install in this car. Also watch the newsstands this August for the release of the issue. It’s actually coming out as a September issue of Super Street. Enjoy some of the pictures I took yesterday. Feel free to email me or leave a message if there is any questions regarding the build and the parts we have on the car.
