There’s only a few shows on television right now that amuses me. It’s rare to find a show that grabs my attention since most of the shows right now are either reality TV or some sort of teenage drama that’s so annoying that you want to throw your remote at your tv. Do yourself a favor and get the season 1 DVD of Flight of the Conchords. Best dvd collection this year in my opinion.

Flight of the Conchord Season 1 DVD

It’s about 2 folk singers from New Zealand, Bret and Jermain, trying to make it big in New York. Shown in HBO, the series portrays the adventures of Bret and Jermaine with a sudden switch from lines to musical numbers. Genius. Again pick the DVD up and thank me later! For more info visit HBO’s Website or for more detail, Wikipedia them =). Check out some clips from the show.

The weekend has passed and what a weekend it was. It’s been a little under a year when D1GP showed up and took over Southern California by storm. Unfortunately, it’s either the timing or the show loosing it’s luster because the attendance wasn’t as big as it used to be. I remember when I found out that D1 is coming stateside. I was so stoked that I couldn’t believe what I just heard. I remember the 1st sight of D1 Drivers stateside at Drift showoff a Ken Miyoshi concoction held at the parking lot of Irwindale speedway. So small yet it’s where the mainstream drifting originated.

Both days I was hanging out/working with Autoimportcraze[dot]com and Babeblvd.com getting drunk and yelling at people to buy calendars. It was fun. The event was awesome as always. Watching the D1 Japan guys drift will never get old for me. For some reason I find them doing it more fluid than others. Much more smoother and more precise. Kumakubo rocked the house winning both the D1 Japan Series Championship and US vs Japan but I felt like he got robbed with the title on the D1 World competition. I’m probably just biased because he dropped the STI and started drifting the Evo 9. Such a bad ass car.

Enjoy some of the photos down below and the rest can be viewed @ Autoimportcraze[dot]com. Awesome weekend. Good friends, good food, great show! We got to do this again.

Aaah Solja boy how I hate your songs . . . but here comes Travis Barker to spice things up a little and add a little bit of rock n’ roll. Makes the song a little bit more bearable but I still hate it. Check it and rock out a bit. It’s like that whole purple popcorn/mims “This is why I rock.” I actually like that one.

This just leaves us to the age old question . . .

Who’s Solja’ boy’s Best friend . . . ?? it’s …

Since we’re on the subject of CTRs (Civic Type-R) here’s a quick glance at the Mugen CTR. The car is far more performance oriented than the Ings+1 type-R, since it’s made by Mugen. I’d be very disappointed if it wasn’t. For more information about this car please visit it’s Mugen Page. For Japanese lessons please visit your local college and do something about it =). The only thing I can say is the car is a bad ass but Mugen needs to hire a better photographer. Their panning shots sucks. Enjoy some pictures down below and more are available at the Mugen Power Website.

Fastlane Daily has a rare footage of the gauge cluster … err … dash screen that was actually developed by Polyphony Digital (creators of Grand Turismo Series) in conjunction with Nissan and a brief explanation of some of the components of the new GT-R. Aaah … automotive technology. Gots to love it!

ings_1_civic_001.jpg

A few days ago I had the pleasure of hangin’ out and meeting with KJ from Ings USA about the US launch of … well Ings USA. For those people that don’t know Ings is a Japanese company designing and producing aerokits and other kick ass parts for various Japanese cars. Any-hoo this made me browse around their Japan site and be impressed on how their CTR (Civic Type-R) demo car looks. The new Civic Type-R (that we will never see on US Dealerships) although 4 door, is a really awesome vehicle both in looks and performance. We do have the “SI” version in the US but fails in comparison to the all mighty Type-R.

What did they do to their Type-R Demo Car? Here’s the very short mod list =)

  • Wheel: INGS Sport / TS06 (Made by Rays Engineering) 18×9.5 front 18×8.5 rear
  • Tires: Bridgestone / Potenza RE-01R
  • Suspension: Endless Zeal / Function X Coilovers
  • Muffler: 5Zigen / Miracle Fireball
  • Brakes: Endless / 6 pot system (Front)
  • Seat: Bride / Zeta III
  • Seat belt:Takata / MPH 340R

Ok … Ok … so the mod list isn’t that extensive like most of our cars but … well just look at the car. It looks awesome =)

There comes a time that a man must face a his nightmares. A time when you are put to a test and you cannot manage to control any part of it. All you can do is suck it up and go trough the rough times, sail across the angry sea then cross a barren dessert that only faith acts your guide. All you can hope for is that light will shine trough the darkest hours and survive the daunting task that is upon you.

Early tonight, the 20th of November 2007, a very unfortunate act has been done. While parked at a lot in front of a pizzeria in the city of Oxnard, CA a group of mis guided kids were skateboarding so close to my method of transport. An unfortunate accident has happened making a teen stumble and fall from his board causing the skateboard to fly across the lot and hit the valve stem on my front tire. That incident caused the stem to brake in half deflating my front tire. What is a man to do. This begged me to answer the aged old question. What’s worst than running stockies on a car? Running a donut. Oh what a shame it brought to my gangstaness. If friends don’t let friends drive stock, my friends why did you let me drive on donuts. My friends . . . why have you failed me.

Donuts
Shitty at least it gives me an excuse to put the Advan RG’s on or some SSR’s *WINK* =)

Been a while! A week ago the fella’s from the San Diego drove down to Ventura to have their mini meet. Mini as in 30 cars. Kinda shitty kind of day coz it was raining a pretty good half of the day but they still drove down to check out our spot. Just want to thank all the guys that came. We did showed them a surprise tho. Drove down in a undisclosed location. The new High End Shop.

Peep at the guys that came. The shot is at the new High End. Again thanks a lot guys!!

F&*K!! After Sema BASF hired a trucking company to bring the cars home. Specifically the High End FD. And to our surprise a bad news was delivered to us via a shattered front bumper and fenders of our lovable RX-7. Car is supposed to be running it’s first drift run on December but right now, secondary oil cooler has to be fixed and the front frame seemed to be bent a bit hitting the front tires when the wheels are turned. I cringed at the first sight of the front bumper let alone felt really sad for the car. All that’s holding the front bumper in place is our WWJS sticker and duct tape.

Thanks for the early Christmas present guys. We really don’t appreciate the gesture.

A short recap on some of the booth cars are coming right up but right now I want to focus on two the booths that focused on the best damn cars out there!!! The Seibon Carbon booth and Tanabe USA.

The Seibon Carbon booth featured 4 of High End Performance’s new cars. Our all (Dry [not really]) Carbon 350Z, our brand spanking new Widebodied Vortech Supercharged S2000, Steve Ng’s Revamped STI and our High End San Diego poster child the Widebody Evolution 8. And with the help of our High End Models, Asia Eng, Chelsie Thorn, and Lynn (Sorry Lynn I don’t know your name =P), the booth is one big magnet attracting SEMA atendees like what cakes do to little fat kids. I just want to thank everybody that supported us this whole week and all the awesome feedback that we recieved to each of the cars. Please stay tuned since every single car will be featured on countless magazines as well as our models.

The other booth that was filled with warm and guey High End goodness is the Tanabe USA booth. The High End G37 is finally out in public after all these months of secrecy. Also in the lineup is the High End GS430 that is rocking a ultra rare Aim Gain Body kit and some One off SSR’s. Just want to thank all the sponsors especially Giro-san and Reggie from Tanabe USA with all the help that they have provided. Real original Gangsta’s!!

A week ago I departed from home to temporarily reside to a place called Sin City or better known to most people as Las Vegas (Las Gaygas if you swing that way). As what most Filipinos do in this situation is to have a target time on when you are leaving but ending up being two to three hours pass the departure time. As mentioned in the previous post we are heading to Las Vegas to the biggest automotive trade show of all, SEMA 2007.

Cars are prepped and ready so we head north east to our destination but stopping over to pick up the lovely Asia Eng (I’ll introduce her later). But right before we left the shop we ran into problems with the G37 being too low on the rear and having the tires rub on the fenders. After a few hours of modifying the rear fenders (taking the wheels off, cutting, put wheels on, test drive, repeat till perfect), we were off to our journey. A journey that will take about 5 hours to complete. After some scares a long the way, one of which made us pull over twice, we made it there safe and sound. Let the week long adventure commence.

Peep at some of the driving shots.

Just for shits and giggles here’s a pretty gangsta picture of our arrival @ the convention center.  The cars looks so much gangsta without the blue tape.
