Ok so to be honest there’s a lot of car companies out there that’s been failing on their designs lately. One of which is Mazda. Seriously, what’s up with the happy face bumpers. I don’t get it and it looks unbelievably horrendous. The one thing they made right, the Furai concept, was never turned into an ultimate super car. I’d really love to see that car. Although I still love the under powered RX-8, I can’t help but ask for something better. There are the rumors of the RX-7 Resurrection but when will that happen? And with all these emission rules and regulations, how can they create new and powerful rotary engine?

Ok with that rant over here I present to you the future(?), I hope, of Mazda. The Mazda Shinari Concept Car. I really like it. The front fascia is frowning upon the current happy faced Mazda bumpers. It’s length and body is reminiscent of the Aston Martin Rapide. It’s a total classy looking car. All you need to do Mazda is give it a go signal and out it goes in production. Here’s hoping for a rotary engine…

I’m sort of a minimalist.  It doesn’t really show but I seriously like my life as simple as it should be.  Came across this a while ago and by god, this is perfect for me.  Check it.

Check out his website at http://www.fransilvestrenavarro.com/ which is basically a flash sideshow of very minimalist architecture.  Good stuff.  Definitely emailing this guy and asking for a quote on a project and not do it since I don’t have money for it.  Excellent plan!

What was your first car? Actually disregard that question. What car did you drive when you were 19 years old if not what car do you drive now? I ask that question because unlike us normal people, we can’t afford a M6 when we’re 19… well, Mr Wang can… And if you’re nice enough, he’ll buy you one too. No? ok nevermind.

About a week ago I had the chance to shoot Dennis Wang’s 3 series BMW showcar in the mountains of Santa Anita. Dennis is part of our wrecking crew car show team, Auto Concept Elite and is also one of our top cars. His car has recently been featured and covered both in Euro Tuner and PAS Magazine, same month last month. As you could have guessed he’s in baller status. Flashing two cell phones for his local and international ladies (jk) rocking Bathing Ape Clothing from head to toe, among other baller clothes that I don’t even know about coz I’m a poor lad.

Let’s bring focus back into his car and not his baller ways. Dennis’ 3 series show car is a 2006 328i twin charged super car rocking both a super charger and turbo. Basic idea is killing the lag with the supercharger and warping to high speed with the turbo charger on higher rpms. Tuned and created by Groma Performance of Duarte, CA, Groma has been known for it’s outrageous race car builds and near impossible fabrications. It shows in the engine build of Dennis’ car. The Wang mobile is also sporting a simple widebody and a red white and blue candy paint done up by master painter PJ Bonifacio. So much candy that ants live in it’s crevices.

The main purpose of this car is to be a bad ass show car and it has been fulfilling that goal. Winning top honors on the shows it attened, HIN, Spocom and Showoff shows to name a few, the Wang Mobile has been the pinnacle of BMW customization. With electronics that will put your local Best Buy to shame this car has mobile electonics made for your living room and not on a car. Rocking a Mac mini on the front passenger side of the car with it’s matching 24″ mac monitor that puts my personal Mac on a downward spiral because of the envy from this car the car also rocks a wide screen TV on the rear seats and a Nintendo Wii for added entertainment. Yeah, gadgets I want for my house is chillin on the back of a car. I feel sad now.

I shot the car for a feature for a Japanese magazine. Honestly tho, the shots came out well but I am not very satisfied with it. Wish we could have waited the sun to go down but as soon as it did we got attacked by swarms of flies and other bugs. We had to run for our lives as soon as possible but not until we got some rockin rolling shots. This car is amazingly clean and what an amazing build. Unfortunately the car was not made for the canyons coz we left him far behind while driving back down to civilization. Hehe. But still he has his M6 to kick my Evo’s ass… Lame.

Ok ok Bar.  You twisted my arm.  I love this picture.  Simple, vintage, not even half naked, but really really ridiculously cute!

I do have a model photo.  Since she’s been bugging me all day, here’s my new friend Raichelle (Seriously weird spelling) Viado’s pic from the Nisei.  She was on AIC’s booth and also one of the few models at the show.  As mentioned earlier, this ain’t HIN or some shit that has a whole bunch of them.  But then there’s a lot of random girls walking around aspiring to be the next best import model.  Kinda sad seeing them walking around hoping to get discovered.  I would rather sleep in on a Saturday to be honest with you lol.

Anyhoo Raichelle has been everywhere lately and she’s pretty dope too.  Hit her up and ask her if she needs a ride to the DMV via her twitter.  Hehe it’s an inside joke.. not really go ask her… seriously!  LOL.  Anyhoo check her out.

Only top honors for this group =) even tho we brought out hmm i think 8 or 9 cars including tony’s NSX i guess, we still took home a cool collection of trophies that includes mostly showoff trophies, best of shows and best of show EXC class and best team overall.  Not too shabby right?  I’ll try to remember who got who but I know we took all the EXC Class trophies.  What’s the EXC?  It’s a long ass explanation but I’ll shorten it out.  If your car wins best of show on the showoff shows or win at least 3 showoff trophies within a year, then you move up to EXC.  It’s the best of the best.  Most of our cars are on EXC sooo I guess that’s pretty cool? haha anyhoo here’s the lineup from Nisei 2010. read more »

Nisei, as always was a blast.  Wait I might be exaggerating a bit but it was definitely fun.  The old friends, the new homies hanging out, getting some drinks.. and again non-alcoholic.. it was pretty dope.  Oh, oh yeah and there are cars.  Quite a few I might have to say.  Just about the same as last year really but to be honest I don’t really quite remember last year.

Same makes and models are in attendance of course, should I say, a plethora of Hondas, a few classic JDM cars from the homeboys from Infinit Wheels, Toyotas, Mitsus, you know, the usual.  The beauty about Nisei tho compared to all the other is that it’s a car show about cars.  No glitz or glamor, no big stage with performers it’s just pure competitiveness.  Well, as much as it is possible at least.  This is the show where everyone brings their A game.  All the new trends and all the old ones come back every year and show up and is pitted against each other.  Always glad to be a part of it but unfortunately this might be the last one.. AGAIN.

This car has a friggin’ awesome engine bay.  Valve cover is crazy too.  I wonder how it does with heat.

Downtown LA was once again littered with cars last weekend.  Unlike any other day tho it wasn’t just random cars you see on the street.  Causing traffic and breaking necks in Alameda and 1st early in the morning is a cesspool of automotive awesomeness.  The Final (Riiiiggghhttt…. ) Nisei was held AGAIN last weekend at the same traditional spot in Little Tokyo.  It has been a tradition for all of us to go, chill, have a few drinks… non-alcoholic of course… and just have fun with a bunch of friends.  Nisei always brings out the best of the best.  Mostly Hondas but you can never go wrong with that.  Love how the game has changed from a long time ago.  Now it’s all about the wire tuck, funky engine bay paints, and the ever popular flush-tastic offset on the wheels.  Glad to see that everyone has been stepping up their game and I’m happy to see that everything is improving every year.  Hope the trend won’t fade and will always get better.  Let’s not go back to the vinyl interiors please.  Here’s a quick preview of what happened in the show.  Here is the Joey of The Chronicles Booth with the Chronicles Top 10 picks.  Well, top 6 I guess hehe.

Ok well I know it’s been like a month or so, well, not really but it’s been a very long time but as promised heres a little bit of coverage from the show.  See what we did in spocom is do a Marvel team up of some sort, some Miami Heat type of shit as what Mikey have called it.  Phaze 2 and ACElite team up and made the killer crew.  It started when Mr JDM Ego and I got to talking and we finally decided to put our plans into action.  Just a thought turned into reality.  Phaze 2 kick ass cars + AC Elite.. The dream team.  Here’s some of the cars.  Sorry I had my wide angle with me so I give you a weird perspective of things hehe.

Congratulations to all the winners in RPM show!  The show was a total let down but still it was a lot of fun since everyone was chill and down just goofing off.  And to AC Elite, Congratulations fellas’
